2023 Colour Trends: Pantone’s forecasts for interior design
Pantone has released its colour trend report
Honey-shaded coral, bright blue, and tropical orange: Pantone’s colour trend report for Spring/Summer 2023 is here, and it is very bold.
Pantone Color Institute experts have introduced 10 shades that “integrate tradition and innovation, combining our need for brightness and vibrant positivity with nuanced tones“.
The trend color list
PANTONE 17-1563 Cherry Tomato: a red that catches the eye
PANTONE 16-1544 Persimmon: a coral tinged with honey tones
PANTONE 14-1140 Iced Mango: a tropical orange
PANTONE 12-0643 Blazing Yellow: a ray of sunshine
PANTONE 16-0229 Titanite: a bright, brilliant green

PANTONE 14-4122 Airy Blue: Light blue like a cloudless sky

Pink and earthy tones
“As we anticipate our future, we are embracing the freedom to colourfully express our individuality without constraint,” Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, said in a press release. “Experiencing a creative liberation that transgresses previous norms, we are adapting and inventing novel pairings and contrasting harmonies.”
Earthy pinks are among the colour trends we are most excited about in 2023. Pink, by nature, is a colour that promotes tranquillity, and it is no wonder homeowners are now more receptive to it than ever.
Rich mauves and dusty light pinks are the perfect way to add glow and a sense of elegance to a room.
Pastels
Most likely, the Pantone colour of the year will be Digital Lavender, a light pastel purple. So, we can confidently say that the pastel trend will continue to make its way into home decor. Rich, inviting pastels like soft blues, clays, and greens will be a must in 2023.
The clues are all there. In home decor magazines and online, on Instagram and Pinterest: soft pink, mint green and light purple will all be popular colours for walls, furniture, and accessories. So many details to surround yourself with to create truly relaxing rooms.
Far from being monotonous, the 2023 colour trends will give our interiors a wake-up call with cheerful, energetic shades.
Thanks to their palette of shades, they create an original and soft atmosphere and are perfect for renovating interiors while creating a feeling of depth and continuity. The remarkable thing is that they become even more attractive when combined with other shades of the same family and are easy to fit into different rooms, where they blend with wooden furniture and “earthy” materials such as marble or travertine.
These shades are a bold departure from the cooler, somewhat ominous tones of the previous year, the Evergreen Fog of 2022. 2023 looks like a year to lean into authenticity and prioritise the spaces that make you happy, whatever that might mean. Because, in the end, it is the objects with which we fill our homes that have the most power to ease our anxieties.
